Hip-Hop goes from being just music to a poetry that carries with it the strength and voice of social movements. On this ocassion, spoken word artist Boca Floja with join us in sharing the word COMMUNITY - together with the pre-columbian sounds of Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac's flutes, drums, voice and sounds that come from our ancestral heart.
Now in 2013 we got the support of Bread & Roses, with the Oppurtunity fund Since 2003 to 2010 Ollin Yolizlti Calmeca has been founded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, in the category of Perserving Diverse Cultures. In 2010-2013 OYC is founded by The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance is committed to assisting the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts under the proram: Program Stream.
In 2011, Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac participated in the How Philly Moves project. A collection of How Philly Moves images will be presented in a projection installation as part of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts. The projection will run each evening from dusk to dawn, April 7-30th, 2011, at the Kimmel Center.
