Philadelphia Indigenous People Day Celebration

Celbrating the Diversity of Indigenous of this Continent Living in Philadelphia

This year 2023 we will hold our 13th Philadelphia Indigenous People Day Celebration.

While OYC’s programming is led by and held for Mexica people here in Philadelphia we are open and welcoming to people of all cultures, races, gender expressions, and abilities who live in the Greater Philadelphia communities and neighborhoods within which we are intrinsically connected. We are dedicated to having all our programming be fully accessible, free to the public, and family-friendly.

We were part of the delegation that campaigned for Philadelphia to recognize its Indigenous people and since 2011 when Philadelphia City Council declared the first Saturday of October as Indigenous Peoples Day, we have joined with the Native American/Indigenous communities in Greater Philadelphia to organize an annual Indigenous People’s Day Celebration and Powwow.
